Coolest Trashcan ever…

R2D2 Trash CanAnd around $100, it may be the most expensive too! But come on, it’s R2D2, man! The only thing that would make this cooler is if it doubled as a trash compactor with swiss army knife attachments.

“Remember when Luke and Leia and the gang were stuck in that trash-compactor aboard the Death Star? And the walls were closing in and there was some kind of gross muck monster down there and everything? Well, remember how R2D2 hacked into the computer system and stopped the contractor from crushing everyone, saving the day like a little robot hero? Pretty awesome, right? But you know what the moral of that story was? R2D2 knows how to handle some trash!”

It’s the perfect addition to that Star Wars themed room you have. Especially if it’s a home theater. Made of durable vinyl construction, the R2 trash can is 24-inches high, and you open R2’s head by stepping on his center “foot” A removable interior bucket makes taking out the trash easy – although, come on, why doesn’t the “well put together” astromech droid empty himself?
But it doesn’t really need to be just for trash. This R2 unit can also become the coolest drink cooler of all time. Just fill with Ice and the drink of your choice. And if you can attach R2 to iRobot’s Developer Kit Robot, you’ll have R2 serving bar like from Return of the Jedi!

PhotoFair; A simple way to liven up your cloudbook

Everex Cloudbook

Just in case you wanted to add a little color to your newly acquired Everex Cloudbook, the new PhotoFair will be there to help you out. In a strange twist in today’s digital age, the PhotoFair is just a clear plastic covering for your Cloudbook. It will let you display your photo (or just about anything else) of choice. As of now a release date or price has not been announced. Overall a very simple product idea that somehow could be something I can see catching on, now you will not have to litter your laptop with stickers, you can put them on a separate sheet of paper and switch it up when you get bored or decide to part with your laptop.

Phone watches banned from exams

Phone Watch

I had my good share of ways to cheat on exams when needed to, but it didn’t include any kind of “top-notch” technology, like it happened in Thailand. According to someone on the Ministry of Education, a student was caught cheating during an exam by using his phone watch - can you blame him?

The cheating system while using this kind of gadgets is pretty simple: take a discrete photo of the exam questions, send it via MMS to a friend that has the knowledge or knows how to look for the answers, and wait for a SMS with all the goodies.

The only problem is being discrete, and in this case, the student was caught while receiving/reading the text messages that were displayed on the watch. Thanks to this student, all normal watches are banned from exams, and the next step is to take a look at wall clocks.

Sony announces new nav-u PNDs

Sony NV-U73T

Sony seems to be dipping their fingers in just about every segment of consumer electronics, including the personal navigation device (PND) market. The Japanese company has just announced a couple of new models known as the NV-U73T and NV-U83T which are readily available at retail and online stores for approximately $300 and $400, respectively. If you have used any type of PNDs before, you would notice that they all offer pretty much the same features, and it is no different with these two Sony offerings. They feature text-to-speech voice commands and real-time-traffic capability and a super suction cup mounting system that is said to provide added safety - by not dropping down while you drive I guess.

The high end NV-U83T model also ships with Bluetooth connectivity that enables you to handle incoming calls on your cell phone without having to lift your hands off the steering wheel. The built-in microphone makes it a snap to carry out crystal clear conversations, while drivers will be able to use voice commands to initiate calls through compatible Bluetooth-enabled cell phones. Don’t worry about configuring the connection since the nav-u system is smart enough to do so automatically, leaving you to concentrate on more important stuff such as navigating through traffic safely.

Sleep Walking Robot

Using recorded brainwave activity and eye movements during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep to determine robot behaviors and head positions, “Sleep Waking” acts as a way to “play-back” dreams.

Sleep Walking Robot

What do you think the robot can bring to our understanding of possible human-robot relationships?Sleep Waking is a metaphor for a reality that could be in our future. In the piece we use a fair amount of artistic license. Though the eye positioning data is a literal interpretation, what we do with the EEG data is a bit more subjective. However, perhaps one day we will have the technology to literally allow a robot to act out what we do in our dreams. What could we learn from seeing our dreams played back for us? Will we save our dreams like we save our photographs?Taking a wider view, robots are increasingly used to augment human experience. From robotic prosthetic devices, personalized web presences, and implanted RFID chips, technology is moving from being an externalized tool, to being a literal extension of who we are. By giving an example of and drawing attention to this process. We hope to give people the opportunity to think critically what personalized technology actually means.

It’s really over, folks - Toshiba drops HD DVD

Everyone, let’s get together. This is (hopefully) going to be the last HD DVD/Blu-ray news you’ll ever read (we’re saving one post for when Microsoft joins the Blu-ray camp). After the obvious death bells were ringing, Toshiba has finally called it quits. Although HD DVD players will still be sold in stores for now, Toshiba will abandon all new production of players. Most likely, they will be quick to create a Blu-ray player of their own.According to Reuters, “Toshiba is expected to suffer losses amounting to tens of billions of yen (hundreds of millions of dollars) to scrap production of HD DVD players and recorders and other steps to exit the business.”

That’s what happens in a high-risk all-or-nothing format war. Sony must feel pretty good right about now, especially after historic defeats with Betamax, ATRAC, UMD, and more. Blu-ray in PS3 was a risky gamble: it created a price point that many mocked, and generated a good amount of negative publicity for the Japanese electronics giant. However, it was also the Trojan Horse that allowed it to gain such a large percentage of the HD-aware mindset. With this victory, it appears that Sony’s plans are finally coming together.

Soccer Equipment

I’ve recently needed some soccer supplies, to be more specific, I was looking for some soccer cleats.  So I’ve looked around the web to try to find the best place to shop.  Here is a list I got and see if you agree.  Come to find out that there are many brands of soccer cleats, Adidas, Lotto, Diadora, Puma just to name a few.  The types of cleats I need depends on a number of factors: the level of the game, types of fields I’ll be playing but I just want something for general purposes.  Anyway, those sites I found listed here,

The First Entry

Here we go, an official launch of Crazy Zombies. The original idea for this blog was to point out crazy things at the day job but I figure too many stories about some dumb ass get fire because of that. Since I need my job to pay bills and support my family, I decided not to do that.

Now we got that out of the way, I have no idea what this blog is about. Probably end up posting some flash games, online videos, funny pictures, programming stuff, current events and etc. Basically, it’s going to about everything and nothing at the same time.

Thanks for reading my first post.
